To fulfill the Cultural Center’s vision to be a place dedicated to telling the stories of Oklahoma’s American Indian peoples, the Division of Community Outreach was created to strengthen connections with Oklahoma’s Native and Non-Native communities and cultural institutions through outreach efforts and partnership opportunities. The diversity of these tribal communities are unparalleled anywhere else in the nation and are rich in culture and tradition. To connect with these communities the division travels across the state, reaching out to tribal governments, cultural institutions, and communities to build relationships through consultation as a means to gather invaluable input that will be used in the Cultural Center to share Oklahoma’s American Indian experience in a way that has never been done before. If you have a story that you would like to share or if you would like for the division to visit with your organization, please email the division with your request. Stacey Halfmoon
The mission of the American Indian Cultural Center and Museum programs is to develop and offer innovative and exciting public programs which address American Indian perspectives, history, arts and culture and contemporary issues. Prior to opening, the AICCM is presenting pilot-programs as a way to gather feedback from audiences about their interest and preferences for future cultural center programming. The Center is exploring a wide-range of educational programming including an annual film showcase, hand-on workshops and thought-provoking presentations.
While American Indian Cultural Center and Museum is under construction, the Center has had the wonderful opportunity to partner with numerous museums and organizations across the state. Past Events
