Annual Fund - "Keeping the Fire"

Your tax deductible donation to the Annual Fund allows us to use your unrestricted gift to further the AICCM mission to serve as a living center for cultural expression promoting awareness and understanding for all people regarding Oklahoma American Indian cultures and heritage. While the Cultural Center is under construction the AICCM is creating its exhibits and programs. Staff is working with award-winning exhibit designer Ralph Appelbaum Associates to develop state-of-the-art opening day exhibits. Staff is reaching out to the 39 American Indian tribes in Oklahoma to gather exhibit content. Public programs are being shaped through tribal outreach.

The AICCM is partnering with The Oklahoman and is developing the content for the Newspapers in Education Native American supplement that is produced twice a year. Cultural tourism initiatives include collaborating with OklaVision, presented by the Chickasaw Nation in partnership with the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department. The AICCM is also an active participant in the Oklahoma Indian Tourism Association, an initiative it helped start. Donate.

For thousands of years American Indian people have kept their fires alive. This essential element helped sustain livelihood in the communities through their endeavors—from the customary to the sacred. In 2005, we asked the tribes of Oklahoma to come together to bless our grounds for the future American Indian Cultural Center and Museum. Each tribe contributed to the fire that evening and established the Cultural Center’s role to tell the stories of Oklahoma’s 39 tribes, both historically and contemporarily. It is our responsibility to keep this inter-tribal fire alive. Join us by donating to our inaugural Keeping the Fire Campaign. Download Brochure.
