Development Coordinator

Amy was hired as the Development Coordinator in June of 2008, and has been working with the project for eight years as Director of Education and Cultural Affairs with the Oklahoma Centennial Commission.

Amy graduated from the University of Texas with an MBA in Marketing and Management and from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music and Business. She has worked in the field of arts and culture since 1987. Prior to joining NACEA she worked with the Oklahoma Centennial Commission for eight years where she was the Director of Education and Cultural Affairs. In this position she worked in fund development and cultural affairs project management. In this capacity she served as the liaison for American Indian, African American, Asian and Hispanic projects. She also directed Centennial education initiatives, managed public art projects and acted as project director for the U.S. Army Field Artillery Museum at Fort Sill.

Prior to her return in 2000 to her home state of Oklahoma, Amy served as Executive Director of the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge where she directed a 12 person staff, a united arts fund drive, the implementation of a community cultural plan, a grants program serving 13 counties and an arts education program. Her other experience includes working as the Grants Director for the Cultural Arts Council of Houston/Harris County where she managed a $4 million grants program for individual artists and arts organizations. She has also been the Program Administrator for Performing Arts and Special Projects for the Texas Commission on the Arts where she managed the Texas Touring Program, worked with and provided technical assistance to Texas’ performing arts organizations and oversaw the agency’s publications.

Other experience includes working as Vice President for the Texas Alliance for Education and the Arts, and Marketing Administrator for NYNEX Corporation. Amy’s areas of expertise are in nonprofit management, fundraising/development, project management and grant making. She is a member of the board of directors of Untitled [Artspace] and is a member of the State Department of Agriculture Art in Public Places Committee.
